President Writes
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter.
It was a wonderful meeting where about 110 alumni of this great institution met on February 10, 2008, at the TP Road School. We had alumni from the early 1970s to the most recent batch, viz, 2007. A separate report on the meeting is available elsewhere in the website.
We had sent invitations to a few past teachers and a few senior teachers currently teaching in the School. It was most gratifying to note that almost all the teachers, who were invited, attended the meeting. It was as nostalgic to them as it was for all of us.
I am sure you will all agree that the number of alumni who attended the meeting was not as much as expected. Apart from inserting an advertisement in “THE HINDU” dated February 8, 2008, we had sent emails to all alumni who had registered in our website. In addition, I understand that the School authorities had also sent emails to a lot of parents, who are alumni, and, whose children are currently studying in the School. I am hopeful that we will get a better response in the future.
With an intention to propagate the site and interactions with a cross section of batches, I had appealed to the members present to act as catalysts. There was an immediate and voluntary response from a few of the alumni. We will release the list of the catalysts in due course- taking the e-mails of the participants who had given their co-ordinates on Sunday. Our appeal to Alumni who attended the program , to register in the website has resonated positively. I thank all Alumni who have registered post the meeting on Sunday. I look forward to support from all to keep the momentum going on the registration drive. Please socialize the Alumni registration & participation initiative with your other Alumni contacts.
As already mentioned, the School’s year long Golden Jubilee Celebrations gets kick started on Thursday, February 21, 2008.
I sign off by wishing the function to be a grand success.
